Title
Rock Redwoods.
Abstract
The article offers information on the forest of trees including dawn redwoods discovered by Franklin & Marshall College researcher Chris Williams and his colleague David Sunderlin of Lafayette College in an abandoned coal mine in Sutton, Alaska. They discovered fossil forest similar to those found 1,200 miles farther north. Sunderlin calculated the climate of south central Alaska 55 million years ago. He compares the topography of the location to modern day Willamette River in Oregon.
