- Abstract
This article describes a scaffolded approach to inquiry and demonstrates its use in the classroom. It discusses an experiment wherein teachers conducted the candle and jar activity in the classroom. It notes the need of teachers to understand the scientific principles associated with states of matter, chemical reactions and atmospheric pressure. The article also shows the importance of a brainstorming session between the teacher and students.
