- Abstract
The article offers information on the current projects of the Committee RA24. It reports that the RA24 is working on improving the reliability, relevance, and reproducibility of cashmere/wool identification testing. It notes that the they have recently conducted interlabs on chemical separation for polyester/wool blends and microscopic identification and chemical separation for cellulosic fibers. It mentions that the RA24 is starting on a series of cashmere/wool identification interlabs with participants from Germany, Italy, England, and the United States. According to RA24 chairman Adam Varley, once the study is complete, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) will be making available some standard reference samples of cashmere.
