- Title
Up in Smoke: How AB 374 Can Help Revive the Cannabis Industry.
- Authors
Byrne, Zachary
- Abstract
This article explores the challenges faced by the cannabis industry in California and proposes a potential solution through AB 374, a bill aimed at revitalizing the industry. The struggles of cannabis businesses, including high taxes and competition from the illegal market, are highlighted. AB 374 seeks to address these issues by allowing social consumption lounges to expand their activities and by reducing the state excise tax on cannabis sales. The bill is seen as a positive step towards preserving the legal cannabis industry and encouraging consumers to purchase from the legal market.
