- Abstract
The article discusses the social and cultural significance of antique auctions. Popular auctions include celebrity of charity auctions featuring the belongings of the rich and famous. Antique dealers determine asking prices by hearing the prices offered for certain types of merchandise of a specific quality. The development of decision tools can be analyzed based on attendance at and participation in auctions. Networking strategies are also used on the auction floor to see how other bidders are perceiving the objects brought to the auction floor.
