- Abstract
This article is a tribute to J. Leigh Griffith, a prominent member of the Tax Section who recently passed away at the age of 72. Leigh was known for his iconic cowboy hat and his contributions to the LLCs & LLPs Subcommittee of the Partnerships & LLC Committee. He was a respected lawyer, author, and speaker, with expertise in tax law at both the state and national levels. Leigh's career included working with Ernst & Young and being a partner at Waller Lansden, now Holland & Knight. He was also involved in significant legal developments, such as forming the first LLC in Tennessee and drafting the Tennessee LLC Act. Leigh will be remembered for his kindness, intellect, and dedication to his family.
