- Abstract
Alliance members contribute to NATO in different ways. However, the most significant contributions that Member States make to the Alliance can be seen in the field of Alliance funding, through the respective Ministries of Defense and budgets that each NATO member states provide for Alliance funding. Also of exceptional importance to the Alliance is the contribution of the member states through the deployment of the relevant armed forces, in order to help and support the NATO missions. Once the Alliance has entered the post-war period after the Cold War, the former member states are committed of providing bilateral assistance and support to potential countries aspiring to be part of the Alliance.
