- Abstract
Running a successful, high profitable bank is something that every bank manager dreams of. The current globalization process and the strong competition on the market are the reasons bank managers depend on human capital even more than before. As a matter of fact, the list of well-known success factors on the market, (like the product itself, the technology we use, and the availability of finance), has been upgraded with other unconventional factors. Because of the increasing competitive struggle, enhanced by the strengthened liberalization, the success of the banks depends more on the customer service, reaction time, problem solving strategies, motivation and result orientation, competence and learning capacity etc. Concerning the growing significance of the human capital, managing this resources and their motivation should have a strategic importance for the banks. The human capital management, as a business function, unites all the tasks related to people, the methods of attracting new staff, their recruitment, selection, training, and other activities related to the founding and development of the personnel.
