- Abstract
All people are equal and should enjoy equal treatment regardless of race, color, ethnicity, language, gender identity, sexual identity, political beliefs, economic status, level of education, age, family status or other circumstance. The prevention and protection against discrimination shall be applicable for all natural and legal persons in the process of exercise of the rights and freedoms guaranteed with the Constitution and the legislation of the Republic of Macedonia. The Commission for Protection against Discrimination is competent to process complaints; to give opinions and recommendations on specific cases of discrimination. The courts, the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsman, have competent to protect the principle of equality and non-discrimination.
