- Abstract
The authors discuss the role of the rapid increase in the number of packaged liquor outlets on hazardous drinking throughout Australia. The authors cite the problems in the presence of liquor superstores include increased drinking by youth and disadvantaged people, increased in crime and violence, and drinking in local parks and streets. The authors emphasize the strong relationship between increased taxes and prices and reduction of alcohol use and related problems.
