- Abstract
The article focuses on the troubled faith displayed by devout Christians including Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Mother Teresa and Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Teilhard was a Jesuit priest and a scientist who revealed in an essay entitled "How I Believe" regarding his lack of assurance of Jesus Christ. Mother Teresa also indicated her feelings of doubt and abandonment in her writings. In her autobiography, Saint Thérèse identified herself with the atheists.
