- Abstract
The article presents the Hydrological Planning of the Gran Canaria and Tenerife Demarcations. These plans aim to establish measures to achieve the objectives of hydrological planning in both demarcations, specifically for water bodies and protected areas. The plans have a territorial and urban impact and will prevail over other existing planning instruments. The Hydrological Plan of Gran Canaria is structured into several sections that address topics such as environmental objectives, water bodies, and the use and protection of the hydraulic public domain, among others. The Hydrological Plan of Tenerife is also structured into different provisions that cover aspects such as water collection, transportation, storage, and supply to populations, among others. Both plans seek to achieve the good condition and adequate protection of the hydraulic public domain and water, meet water demands, and contribute to mitigating the effects of droughts and floods.
