- Abstract
The article describes the use of the film "The Wizard of Oz" in teaching homicide principles to law students in the U.S. According to the author, she uses a video clip from the film to illustrate general criminal law principles of mens rea and actus reus as well as to review homicide and self-defense. The author states that the class is divided into three groups, namely, prosecutors, defense attorneys and jurors. After showing the clip, the students are asked to discuss their legal arguments.
