- Abstract
The author focuses on a study on role of Intrapartum Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) on understanding Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) along with information on FHR variability. He mentions that fetuses become unable to maintain fetal cardiovascular defense mechanisms after the development of severe acidaemia. He discusses FHR variability between repeated asphyxia was found unaltered through the analysis of fetal sheep which had been chemically sympathectomised.
