- Abstract
The article discusses the European Court of Human Rights case Church of Scientology of St. Petersburg & Others v. Russia which deals with refusal by the Justice Department to register the Church of Scientology of St. Petersburg as religious organisation. It states that the court decided whether the refusal to register as religious organization had violated right to freedom of religion in the light of freedom of association. It concludes that the refusal had violated Article 9 of the Convention.
