The ethics of euthanasia.
- Authors
Ebrahimi, Nargus
- Abstract
The article presents the arguments for and against euthanasia within the etymological and legal frameworks used in Australia and other countries. Both sides of the arguments characterize euthanasia as a moral issue, founded on the application of the concepts of autonomy and human rights and realized within the physician-patient relationship. In contrast to other countries, active euthanasia, assisted suicide and physician-assisted suicide are prohibited under law in Australia.
