The article discusses the topics of loss causation and materialization of risk doctrine in securities fraud class action lawsuits in the U.S. Also cited are the ruling by most federal circuit courts on loss causation, the securities lawsuit against BP after its Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill, and the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 10b-5 on securities fraud.
