- Title
Between Impressions and Data: Negotiating Literary Value at the Humanities/Social Sciences Frontier.
- Authors
Murray, Simone
- Abstract
The article discusses that the chief intellectual challenge facing literary studies is the under-acknowledgment of print-culture assumptions, that shape the discipline, despite the contemporary dominance of digital platforms in publishing, promotion, and discussion of literature. It calls for a reevaluation of literary studies' norms, advocating for the incorporation of insights from sociology and other disciplines to demonstrate the discipline's socio-cultural relevance.
