- Abstract
This study analyzes the interrelations between environmentalist NGOs, the State and the private sector, based on the propositions of Alexis De Tocqueville and the development of environmental issues in Latin America. It was observed that political Theory is intrinsically linked to the primary, secondary and third sectors, as it primarily involves the interests of society, which are often affected by the decisions made in the three spheres studied here. It is also observed that the expansion of the large NGOs has influenced the development and organization of civil society in Latin American countries, particularly through the contribution of financial resources.
