- Authors
Baylis, Kathy; Nogueira, Lia; Pace, Kathryn
- Abstract
The article explores the implications of food import refusals on trade in the European Union (EU), particularly to the trade pattern and to the deflection of food exports to other markets. It says that EU is the largest seafood importer in the world, in which the seafood products imported by EU include Pacific salmon, frozen shrimp, and canned tuna. Furthermore, it mentions that EU food import refusals cause significant trade deflection and it clearly has an impact on trade patterns.
