The author reflects on his transition from practitioner in policing into a university professor in criminal justice. Topics include the challenges he faced on understanding the knowledge, needs, and expectations of his students; imparting of knowledge to students and the importance to develop their professional values and ethical perspectives; and the importance of carefully planned educational process and guidance to students, who wish to dedicate their lives to public service.
