- Abstract
The article focuses on the complications of immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and HIV to the eyes. It explores the common reasons for referral of the patients with HIV or AIDS to the ophthalmologist which include molluscum contagiosum, Kaposi's sarcoma, retinal microvasculopathy, and cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. It indicates the importance of recognizing the ophthalmic manifestations of HIV and AIDS which is underlined by the availability increase of effective treatments. Furthermore, it cites the examinations and treatments applied for the diseases.
