- Title
Taking Care of Your Eyes at the Screen.
- Authors
Goldsborough, Reid
- Abstract
The article discusses the three most effective solutions for computer vision syndrome that are low-tech lighting fixes. It points out that the lighting should come from the side since if the lighting comes from behind the screen it will shine into the eyes and if it come from behind the person, it will create a glare on the screen. It indicates that operating systems like the Microsoft Windows allow the user to personalize how text is displayed within any program and suggests an option that displays light text on a black background. It recommends eye breaks by looking away from the screen every 20 minutes or so for about 20 seconds.
