- Authors
Razin, Sergey V.
- Abstract
This article is a tribute to Ron Hancock, a scientist known for his work in the field of biochemistry. Hancock began his career studying prokaryotic systems before shifting his focus to the eukaryotic cell nucleus and conducting research on chromatin and DNA replication. He made important contributions to the understanding of chromatin replication and high-order chromatin packaging, particularly in relation to the role of topoisomerase II. Hancock also explored the role of entropic forces in the assembly of nuclear compartments and chromatin folding. The author of the article had the opportunity to work with Hancock and describes him as a passionate and dedicated scientist who was always willing to help others.
