- Abstract
This article examines the role of food in the identity and communication of Polish Americans. The author conducted a study in the late 1980s and early 1990s, observing and analyzing the food practices of Polish American families. The study found that food serves as a means of communication and expression of identity for Polish Americans, impacting various aspects of their lives. The author conducted interviews and observations with three different types of Polish American families in New York City, documenting their food traditions. The article emphasizes the significance of food in preserving Polish identity within the Polish American community.
