- Abstract
This study a a brief introduction to the oral nature of the literatures from Cape Verde And São Tomé and Principe. Though different in outcomes—because of their shared (pre)-history, both African and both European in nature—the literary production that sprung from these two archipelagos share a distinctively Portuguese-Creole/Afro-Portuguese aspect, linguistically as well as culturally, that sets than apart from the rest of the Lusophone African countries, namely Guinea-Bissau, Angola, and Mozambique, though obviously sharing w¡th them many cultural and linguistic aspects, Portuguese as well as (pan) African.
