The article discusses the research "Determination of Paralytic Shellfish Toxins in Shellfish by Receptor Binding Assay: Collaborative Study," by Frances M. Van Dolah et al. The study assessed the ability of the receptor binding assay (RBA) to measure the paralytic shellfish toxins (PST) toxicity of shellfish samples below, near, or slightly above the regulatory limit of 800. Shellfish samples included blue mussel, California mussel and chorito mussel.
