Sex and relationships guidance.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses sex and relationships education (SRE) guidance in schools where teachers talk about SRE but may not feel comfortable with the subject matter. It recommends that SRE be taught under the personal, health and social education (PHSE) and made a statutory subject in key stages 1-4. It urges school nurses to act as key resources within agreed protocols to support SRE delivery. It mentions also that changes to initial teacher training (ITT) are recommended to include a specialist PHSE route.
