The article discusses the significant political role played by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney during his tenure. Topics discussed include how Cheney pursued a powerful role as vice president using his tie breaking vote in the U.S. Senate to serve Republican's legislative agenda, and how he opposed any restriction on executive power on matters of foreign aid, intelligence and defense. Also discussed is Cheney's role as head of task force to draw up a national energy policy.
