- Abstract
The article focuses on the progress of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing's Lidar Cal/Vat Working Group headed by the U.S. Geological Survey in developing "Guidelines on Geometric Accuracy and Quality of Lidar Data." It discusses the important role of the group in identifying data quality metrics of lidar data, citing the development of the Data Quality Measures (DQMS). It also notes that the metrics was used as standard method for quantifying geometric quality.
