The article presents several research studies related to kidney disease and diagnosis. One study is about podocyte dysfunction which plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of proteinuria and glomerulosclerosis. Second study is on the physiological role of urokinase receptor (uPAR) signaling in the regulation of kidney permeability. Third study describes a nonapoptotic cell death program in matrix-detached cells.
