The article focuses on the significance of incretin-based therapies in directing the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes in the U.S. It notes that cardiometabolic disease characterized by diabetes and excessive cardiovascular risk challenges healthcare providers. Research found out that only 50% of the patients achieved a target glycosylated hemoglobin of less than 7%.
