- Abstract
The article presents a study which examined the hydration status of male football players in the New Zealand Football Championship league, over a period of one week of training and competing. The urine specific gravity (USG) from collected first void urine samples from 14 players, over a period of eight days, was used to determine the daily hydration status. The study revealed the insufficient hydration of players over consecutive days that encompass training sessions.
