The article examines the use of framework dynamics in controlling the pore size of metal-organic frameworks (MOF) to achieve selectivity and increase binding of ions and gasses. One research conducted by T. Maji and colleagues were able to illustrate that interpenetrating MOF structures can expel gases and shift with respect to the change in pore dimension. Key information about the use of selective guest exchange method in changing pore size is further presented.
