- Abstract
The article highlights the timeline of the union activities of library workers in the U.S. in 2006. In February 2006, a staff from Cheshire, Connecticut public library formed a union under the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). In March 2006, "Library Journal" editor-in-chief John N. Berry spoke to the Interest Group for Libraries and Unions of Washington Library Association and addressed ways for making library workplaces worthy of professional values they represent. In June 2006, the Seattle Public Library employees of AFSCME Local 2083 passed a resolution calling the immediate removal or resignation of U.S. President George W. Bush.
