- Title
Platelet count manipulation and modification of global haemostasis tests in patients with chronic liver disease: almost there, almost there...
- Authors
Giannini, Edoardo G.
- Abstract
The author discusses the study which examines the relevance platelet count manipulation and modification of global haemostasis in patients affected by chronic liver disease (CLD). He explains that the study showed that platelet transfusions were able to improve thrombin generation and proportion of CLD patients. He also cites that a small increase in platelet count was not able to improve global haemostasis tests in the study which is significant and may be of help in future studies.
