- Abstract
The article reports on a 31-year-old male smoker suffering with Pancoast's syndrome associated with a pneumococcal paravertebral abscess. Chest radiography, computed tomography and laboratory studies revealed abnormal opacity in the left lung apex, mass lesion and elevated infammatory marker values. Clinicians are suggested to consider paravertebral abscesses in the diferential diagnosis of cases with Pancoast's syndrome.
