- Abstract
Chronic hand eczema (CHE) is a diverse skin condition that is categorized based on both its cause and clinical presentation. However, there is often no consistent correlation between the cause and presentation, making classification difficult. A recent study investigated inflammatory plasma biomarkers in CHE patients to determine if specific biomarkers could be associated with certain causes or presentations. The study found that while certain biomarkers were associated with disease severity, no biomarkers were identified to discriminate between different causes. The study highlights the complexity of CHE and the need for further research to better understand the condition.
