- Title
Speech app for patients with special needs.
- Abstract
The article discusses the "Stories at the Dentist," a speech app developed by Scottish scientists that helps children and adults with learning and/or communication disabilities prepare for a visit to the dentist. Topics discussed include the 18-month long collaborative project among computing scientists, dentists and health scientists from the Universities of Dundee and St. Andrews that led to the development of the app and how the app reduces the anxiety of patients when visiting the dentist.
