- Abstract
This article examines the wages of graduates inside and outside of academe in both Great Britain and the U.S. The education sector is an international one. One quarter of academic staff moves within the higher education (HE) sector are to higher education institutions (HEIs) outside the Great Britain. Much of this movement is made up of non-Great Britain nationals. The subject of this article is differences in earnings. Obviously, pay is only one of many factors which influence the decision to enter and remain in academe and to move between academic institutions.
