- Authors
COLLINS, MICHAEL
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the people in Placentia. It says that Placentia was French but there were almost no French people living in the place. It states that French is the language used by itinerants bureaucrats, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers and their families as well as other people originally from other place. It adds that Placentia has no French quarter for the French families to maintain their French culture and language since it was already taken over by English.
