- Abstract
This article presents a profile of Rabbi Sigmund Hecht. He was one of the candidates for the Rabbinical position of the Temple B'nai B'rith in California. His inaugural service was held in Los Angeles, California. Hecht gave his pledges to his congregation during the inaugural sermon. The congregation celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of Hecht and his wife at the Concordia Club in California. After the High Holy Days of 1900, the rabbi turned his attention to the organization of literary, debating and Bible study circles among the members of the congregation.
