- Abstract
We show that experimental-calculational methods are very useful and fruitful for sheet materials and thin-walled structures, where the use of conventional experimental methods is limited. We illustrate the application of experimental-calculational methods on the example of determining the contour J-integral and critical strain intensity factor in a thin plate with a crack. This approach is based on the method of dividing grids, the deformation theory of plasticity, and basic equations for the considered parameters of fracture mechanics.
