- Abstract
This research is a case study of a third grade student who has reading and comprehension difficulties to identify and overcome these difficulties. In the study, firstly, the reading difficulties and reasons of a student with reading and comprehension difficulties were determined, and then the methods that could be applied to overcome these difficulties were determined. Error Analysis Inventory was used to determine the students' reading and comprehension errors. It was observed that the student made reading mistakes such as skipping, adding, misreading and repeating while reading that was made before the student started the applications. It has been determined that the students' mistakes are generally caused by incorrect spelling, lack of motivation and reading less. In order to eliminate these problems, a five-week curriculum was applied to the student. In order to use in the studies conducted to eliminate the reading difficulties of the students, different reading texts suitable for the third grade level were selected and the study was carried out on these pieces by methods such as repeated reading, echo reading, and paired reading. While the word recognition and comprehension levels of the students were at the anxiety level in the pre-test results before the application started, it was observed that they increased to the instruction level as a result of the post-test performed after the application.
