This text deals with the idea of how sewing has become a tool for the development and survival of the human species and, therefore, has become an inscription on skin, fabric and bodies which tells many stories over time. My starting point was the exhibition Cartas do Mau Encontro, an art installation that made me realize the importance of sewing as a means to think about a critique within photographs. In this text colonial photography is seen as a wound that needs to be healed, sutured by artistic and creative processes.
