Abstract: While it seems that christian antijudaism has been supperseded by modern antisemitism, the rise of evangelical christianity has shown, that the religious hatred of jews is alive and well. This paper argues that a return to Freud is worthwhile to understand the ressentment of antijudaism. In very few mentions of antijudaism Freud drafts a theory in which jews incorporate the fear of castration and the big Other.
