- Abstract
Tekirdağ province is a highly developed region in terms of milk production and processing. The milk and dairy processing facilities in the province use modern production methods. However, since livestock enterprises operating in milk production are small and medium-sized, they cannot benefit from the advantages of economies of scale. Therefore, increasing the scale of dairy firms and increasing the number of modern firms will contribute to the development of the dairy sector. In milk production and processing facilities, milking, logistics and processing processes should be integrated with cold chain systems. It should be encouraged to establish medium and large scale modern firms to solve the problems faced by the manufacturer. The large scale of the enterprises will contribute to the benefits of economies of scale. Agricultural enterprises that previously engaged in dairy farming should be supported primarily.
