- Abstract
"A Century of Votes for Women: American Elections since Suffrage" by Christina Wolbrecht and J. Kevin Corder examines the trajectory of women's voting behavior and political representation in the United States since the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment. The authors argue that women are not a single, cohesive voting group, and factors other than gender need to be considered to explain women's turnout and voter choice. The book analyzes five chronological periods spanning from 1920 to 2016, highlighting the social and political changes that influenced women's voting patterns. The authors conclude that women's voting is shaped by events, issues, conditions, and candidates, and that women do not represent a monolithic voting bloc.
