The article focuses on the ethical problems that affect criminal attorneys and those handling civil cases in the U.S. Topics discussed include ethical violations committed by prosecutors such as presentation of false testimony, misleading witnesses, and removal of exculpatory evidence, complex and ambiguous ethical rules and standards, and court rules regarding evidence, discovery and other matters. It offers suggestions for individual attorneys and legal employers to enhance their ethics.
