Presents findings of a long-term follow-up of nine HIV-infected patients who received highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) between 1996 and 1997. Positivity of all nine patients for the persistence of GB virus C (GBV-C) RNA; Negativity for E2 antibody GBV-C at the start of HAART; Observation of GBV-C clearance during HAART in one-third of the cohort.
